Arrangements have been made with the Colonial Government to house them at the encampment at Lai Chi Kok, under the care of a Military guard, but consider- able delay has been experienced in getting the camp into a habitable condition owing to the intervening holidays, and, although I have experienced every assistance from the Colonial Government, it seems impossible to get them to do anything on Sundays or holidays; in fact, on these days, it is practically impossible even to communicate with them on any subject,

even of importance.
